That extra bottle of 5W oil should be fine to keep in the car for top-offs should the need arise. Don't go driving crazy miles between each oil change and you'll be fine, and keep in mind that if you're using conventional oil not recommended instead of synthetic oil, you'll need to change your oil much more often.
