She has taken the social studies part of the praxis 7 times and is unable to pass! She has taken quizlets, studied websites, studied studied studied and cannot pass. There is no guaranteed success in appealing scores. If your Praxis test included constructed response questions, then you have a better chance of changing the scores.
However, you should be very confident that you deserved a higher score! Otherwise, you risk wasting time you should spend preparing to retake the test. I took and passed the the first time around by researching what the test requires and printing the study packet from ETS. I painstakingly filled out the entire thing which focused generally on teaching strategies, and how to differentiate instruction for different special needs. A week later, I also took multiple subjects, and passed all but the math portion as I did not know I could use a scientific calculator available on the computer.
I waited several months to retake the math portion as I was already employed at a good paying job and not ready to make the jump. I achieved a score of , needing a I took them each 10 times and studied as much as I possibly could for two weeks.
I passed this past Saturday and got a Maybe I lucked out on the similarities between practice and real test questions, but for me, I had to dedicate my life to studying for two weeks! Looking back, I would have purchased the third available practice test if it meant passing. I hope this helps someone, God bless! Thanks guys. I took the Core Writing Praxis and did well on the essay portion but not the multiple choice section.
I missed passing by 5 points. If I retake, do I have to write the essays again or just take the multiple choice portion? The Praxis Core Writing is administered as one whole test. I agree with most of the people I have written and , in one exam got and passing score was and in where passing score was , really its very frustrating.
I have read the whole book which I bought ets, I bough practice paper also but no use. I am still giving these exams.
I think after sometime I will be more frustrated and I will try forget about this career. I wish I could be of more help.
