Should i buy from scooterdepot




















Lemon scooter from scooter depot. I purchased a 50 cc scooter from scooter depot about a month ago and haven't been able to get it started. I am not a very mechanically minded person but it never said I needed to be in order to get this thing started.

I called their tech department about four times and they weren't much help, they just kept telling me the same thing, make sure there is a vacuum from the gas line into the engine. Did everything they told me to do and still nothing. Then I said I want to return it and they said they don't take returns. So am I to understand that I am out a grand?

I've had electrical harnesses not connected causing the stator not to charge my battery, I've had to replace the fuel filter and I have had to replace my clutch twice.

It has been in the shop 5 times now in 2 months. I ride it for about 2 -3 days then back to the shop it goes. It's in the shop now for the 6th time to have the variator replaced and the rod that it mounts on has jammed in the engine and needs an overhaul to fix it. I am a mechanic, so assembly was a piece of cake. I got my item ship to my house. No scratches or dings on the bike. It was wrap and crated very well. Shipping time was faster then I thought it would be, got the bike in no more then 4 days. But the freight company they used didn't have a liftgate, so I had to help the driver my self to unload the bike.

Shipping time was fast, bike came in good condition, but freight company they used was horrible. They need to get a new freight company from my opinion.

The order was placed by phone with a person named "Anna". Gave her my banking account Friday afternoon, she said the scooter would be ready for Will Call by Saturday morning since they are so close to me and I did not want to pay extra charge for shipping.

They never send me order confirmation I've provided "Anna" my email and other contact info , never called. The weekend went by, still no contact from them so I called. I must've gotten 4 different people who got on the phone and tossed me around like beach ball at the baseball park - no one was able to help me!?

Patiently, I tried again and again, and got the same result - no one knows what the heck I'm talking about. So, I've sent an email to their main address to please cancel my order. It took me many phone calls and several trips to my local bank branch to clear up the matter and finally got it resolved. My bank filed the complaint against their bank and I have my money back. I hope karma will take care of these people who have screwed other consumers out of their hard earn money.

I immediately called Sunny Sports and got the same run around as last time. Disconnected over and over, RUDE people who wouldn't let me finish a sentence, transferred again and again, and generally NO ONE who cared enough to even try to help me.

I was finally transferred to Parts, where a semi-decent person told me that they would immediately ship out a battery, but it would take about a week. What could I do? I waited 9 days 8 was Sunday and called back to find out what was going on.

The same thing again, even though I had a name of the person to talk to. Disconnections, transfers, and RUDE people. When I finally got a hold of him, I was told that the order had got lost and they were having computer problems and they would try to find me a battery to send because the one that fit my scooter was not in stock, but I would have to measure the compartment for the battery and e-mail it to them so they could see if anything they had would fit.

They didn't know what would fit or couldn't measure themselves? What about a model number for the battery? Oh, they don't have that kind of information. Well I did it, and waited another week. No battery and no idea when I would get one. It was now a month from the time that I ordered my scooter and still not able to even start it to see if everything was all right. This was not easy because the reason I bought the scooter was that it was my only source of long distance transportation around town.

I was tired of walking to the store at least once a week for groceries hard to carry more than that when walking or not really being able to get anywhere farther than 4 or five miles away.

I believe Sunny Sports first pulled a bait and switch with me on the scooter. By the way, it was NOT the same as the other model. No rear disc brakes was the major difference.
